Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 26, 2026
Introduction
Welcome to New Life ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our client applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
1. Account Information
- Email Address: Collected when you create an account or sign in using Firebase Authentication
- Password: Your account password is collected during account creation and login. Passwords are securely handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored on our servers or accessible to us.
- User ID: A unique identifier (Firebase UID) automatically generated and assigned to your account by Firebase. This identifier is used to link your account data across our services.
- Time Zone: The time zone name reported by your browser. We use this to schedule daily emails (such as activity summaries) relative to your local calendar day.
2. Screenshot and Monitoring Data
- Screenshots: Our client applications capture screenshots of your screen for content monitoring purposes
- Screenshot Processing:
- Screenshots and associated event data are securely sent to our server for processing
- Screenshots are analyzed using automated methods, including artificial intelligence (AI) for determining the potential presence of adult content and separate automated analysis for private/incognito browsing (currently on Android). This analysis is fully automated and occurs on our servers - screenshots are not sent to third-party AI services
- The result of the analysis is stored in our Firestore database along with associated event data
- Most screenshots are discarded immediately after analysis. For a limited subset of screenshot events, a blurred version of the screenshot is also saved to Firebase Storage. This allows you and your accountability partners to review your activity (on the History page of our website) and verify the automated detection results. Stored screenshots have restricted access and are subject to automatic quota limits to minimize data collection
- Event Data: We record timestamps, detection results, and monitoring status (such as whether screenshots were received, if monitoring has been interrupted, or if the app has been closed or uninstalled) for each monitoring event. We also record the device type (e.g., Android, Windows, or macOS) associated with each event, where available
- Automated Processing: Screenshots are automatically analyzed. Certain detection results and monitoring status can automatically trigger email notifications to you and your accountability partners
3. Usage and Activity Data
- Last Active Timestamp: Records when you last used the Service
- Monitoring Events: Information about when monitoring is active or interrupted
- App Status: Notifications when the application is closed or uninstalled
- Screen Permission Status: Whether screen recording permissions have been granted or revoked
4. Subscription
- Subscription Status and History: Whether you have an active subscription, trial status, subscription plan details (monthly/yearly), and subscription period dates
- Stripe Customer ID: A unique identifier linking your account to Stripe for payment processing
- Payment Processing: Payment information (credit card numbers, full card details) is collected, processed, and stored exclusively by Stripe. We do not collect or store full payment card information. Through our Stripe account, we may have access to limited payment-related information such as billing address and the last four digits of your payment method. See the "Third-Party Service Providers" section for more details about Stripe.
5. Partner/Accountability Data
- Partner Email Addresses: Email addresses of accountability partners you invite
- Partner User IDs: Unique identifiers for partners who have accepted your invitation
- Partnership Status: Information about your accountability partnerships, including invitation status, approval state, and whether partnerships are active or removed
6. Website and Analytics Data
- Website Usage: Information about how you interact with our website
- Telemetry Data: Microsoft Application Insights collects:
- User ID (Firebase UID)
- Email address (for authenticated users)
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Error logs and performance metrics
- Device Information: Basic device and browser information when accessing our website
7. Technical Data
- IP Address: Collected when client applications communicate with our servers (e.g., when sending monitoring data) and when you access our website
- Authentication Information: Session authentication data managed by Firebase to verify your identity when you use our Services
8. Feedback and Survey Data
- Voluntary Feedback: When you choose to participate in optional feedback surveys or submit feedback through the Service (for example, when cancelling your subscription or using an in-app feedback feature), we may collect your responses. These may include multiple-choice selections and free-text input. Participation is always optional and you may skip any survey at any time.
- Feedback responses are stored in our Firestore database and may be associated with your account to help us follow up on reported issues.
